Musical compositions, in the end, speak for themselves. Yet the circumstances which cause them to be composed, and many other influences, inform the shape they take. David Hurd offers some background on and analysis of several of his choral and organ compositions, including works he will perform on his September 29 recital.
The 10am-Noon workshop will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (50 N. Prospect St., Akron) and is co-sponsored by the Akron Chapter AGO and will be followed by an RSVP-only luncheon. Members of the Canton Chapter AGO will be joining the Akron Chapter for what will surely be an informative and interesting look into Dr. Hurd's compositions.
