This year’s featured selection will include Caroline Shaw’s stunning work: “To the Hands” — based on Dietrich Buxtehude’s “Ad Manus” from Membra Jesu Nostri, (complete with strings, organ and staging). Its subject is today’s refugee problem, the struggle and discomfort it produces; and how we shouldn’t shy away from, but “Lean Into” the issue with courage, kindness and love — actually growing spiritually in the process.
