Dinner & Apollo’s Fire RSVP

  • 6:00 pm at Mustard Seed (upstairs) in Highland Square (867 W Market, Akron).
  • Order your own food when you arrive—you’ll get an order number—then make your way to the banquet room.

Dinner is limited to the first 20 persons who sign up (past 20 would require us to order from their catering menu as a group, increasing the overall price of dinner substantially).

As of Saturday, April 20, we have 11 signed up for dinner.

8:00 pm Concert: J.S. Bach’s EASTER ORATORIO (more info)

7:00 pm Pre-Concert Talk with visiting scholar Michael Marissen.

The concert will run 1 hour and 50 minutes, including intermission.

A rare chance to hear J.S. Bach’s dramatic Easter masterpiece! Jeannette Sorrell leads soloists, choir, three trumpets, and a festive orchestra. Alongside the Easter Oratorio, Apollo’ Fire will also present Bach’s exuberant Easter Cantata, BWV 66 – including a moving dialogue between Hope and Fear, as well as a thrilling trumpet solo.

  • Tickets are at a very special rate of $20—nearly a 50% off discount of the normal rate of $38. AGO members can also buy tickets for family or whatever as long as they are coming together.
  • Concert will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1361 W Market St., Akron
  • Please bring a check or cash for the total amount owed. Our treasurer, Mason Meyer, or another officer will be on hand at Mustard Seed, or at the concert to collect any monies (find him or another officer in the sanctuary before or after the concert, or during intermission). Make checks payable to Akron Chapter AGO.
  • For those attending the dinner, tickets will be passed out at Mustard Seed.
  • For those NOT attending the dinner, tickets will be held in their own name at the Apollo's Fire Box Office onsite at St. Paul's.
  • The concert will be followed by an afterglow reception of sweet treats and sparkling beverages.
